I love public radio: NPR, of course, but also PRI, PRX, and lesser-known groups working to get thoughtful reporting on the air and web. I recently discovered Harvest Public Media. This piece about an Iowa couple struggling to make a living from pasture-raised cattle and hogs caught my attention and kept my interest.

It also brought to mind Jordandal Farms, one of my favorite sources for local meat. (Their chorizo is especially delicious!) Find them online, in local restaurants such as Brasserie V, at the Dane County Farmers’ Market, and in Madison-area outlets including Metcalfe’s Sentry at Hilldale.
