Student reporting for Wisconsin foodies

As described here, Curb magazine is the handiwork of UW-Madison students under the guidance of faculty associate Katy Culver. The most recent edition, the magazine’s 10th, includes a number of features on Wisconsin food and drink. In my opinion, the best of the bunch is this really nice piece by Beth Pickhard that focuses on the sustainability efforts of Central Waters Brewing in Amherst, Wisconsin.

I also liked Evan Benner’s contribution on the long history of Racine bakeries producing Danish kringles. Though a firmer editorial hand could’ve tightened up the piece a bit, I enjoyed learning more about this part of Wisconsin’s heritage.
