Madison’s 2012 James Beard semifinalists
As detailed in this article from Lindsay Christians over at madison.com, three area establishments have been named semifinalists in the 2012 James Beard Foundation Awards. As Christians describes, “Shinji Muramoto and Tory Miller have been nominated for Best Chef: Midwest, for Restaurant Muramoto and L’Etoile respectively. New this year is an award for best bar program, and The Old Fashioned was the only Wisconsin restaurant to get a nod…. The James Beard Foundation Awards honor excellence in the restaurant industry, and are one of the highest honors a restaurant (or chef) can receive. Muramoto was named a semi-finalist in 2008 and 2009. Miller was a James Beard finalist in 2011. L’Etoile’s former chef Odessa Piper won the Best Chef: Midwest title in 2001.”
Finalists will be announced on March 19, and winners will be declared on May 7. Congrats to all our Madison honorees!
