Tonight J and I went to the REAP (Research, Education, Action and Policy on) Food Group annual member appreciation pizza party, held again this year at the Greenbush Bar. We went for the first time last winter with our friends V and E (miss you guys!) This year it was just the two of us, until we happily ran into someone we haven’t seen in a while. It’s a well-attended event (though despite a full reservation list, the crowd seemed smaller this year).
For only $5 per person ($10 for non-members), we got to enjoy an ever-changing, all-you-can-eat pizza buffet plus some nice salads, all provided by area restaurants that participate in REAP’s Buy Fresh Buy Local program. Sodas, including bottles of Sprecher root beer, were included, and the full bar was open for business. I wasn’t into the local beers available, so I tried (and liked) New Belgium’s spring release, Dig Pale Ale; J was very happy to find Ale Asylum Sticky McDoogle Scotch Ale on tap. Pizzas this year were provided by our hosts at the Greenbush, along with Roman Candle (their Veggie Candle is pictured), Ian’s, Pizza Brutta, Bunky’s, and Lombardino’s.
