“Meat, good!” say Paleovores

The “Paleo” diet has been getting lots of press for a while now, and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. In the last few weeks, NPR covered it multiple times and io9 just ran a lengthy feature. And of course, you’re just one Google search away from so much material that you might need another ice age to get through it all.

Despite the seemingly endless coverage, I found myself enjoying yet another piece that came out today at Grist. In it, Jessica Kraft—a journalist and “recovering anthropologist”—considers some of the environmental issues associated with a paleo diet and provides a nice overview for the uninitiated. Whether you’re pro, anti, or undecided on the cave(wo)man way of eating, it’s a thoughtful piece with a point of view that manages not to be combative, and as such is worth checking out here.
